The 3M Littmann CORE Stethoscope, approved by the FDA, allows you to switch between amplified and analog listening modes during examinations. By simply changing the pressure on the chestpiece, you can hear sounds at various frequencies thanks to tunable diaphragm technology, a 3M invention. Hold the chestpiece with light pressure on the patient to hear low frequency sounds; press a little more to hear higher frequency sounds. Soft-sealing ear tips fit each user’s ear precisely for the best comfort and sound occlusion.
With the use of the Eko app for iOS and Android smartphones and the 3M Littmann CORE Stethoscope, you have a HIPAA-compliant way to store and annotate 15, 30, 60, or 120-second recordings in a secure dashboard. To track the evolution of a condition or for educational purposes, compile a library of heart sounds and safely exchange recordings with peers.
Based on a comparison of electronically assisted amplified hearing with maximum loudness at the peak frequency vs analog listening, a 40X amplification was used (125 Hz).
