The distinct chalice-shaped chestpiece featured dual-frequency diaphragms on both its sides, offering perfect acoustic performance, diagnostic versatility and easiness in the handling of patients of various body types and ages. The pediatric side of the chestpiece can be easily transformed into a traditional bell by replacing the diaphragm with the elastic membrane that is included with the stethoscope. Both the adult and the pediatric sides of Cardiology iv stethoscope have solid diaphragms that can be removed, easily cleaned and easily placed back into position as all of their surfaces are smooth and without cavities that are hard to reach.

How often should a stethoscope be cleaned?

In most cases, stethoscopes can be used on exposed skin (non-essential contact), so the guidelines suggest cleaning it "after use on each patient" rather than "before use on each patient.". In cases of semi-critical contacts, such as when using it on skin that is not preserved, cleaning the stethoscope "before use on each patient" is advised. In research, healthcare professionals anonymously examined the frequency and methods of stethoscope cleaning. The results showed fewer than 4% of individuals cleansed their stethoscopes according to CDC standards, and 82% did not disinfect them.

How do I clean my stethoscope?
