Constructed from lightweight titanium, the MDF® ProCardial® Titanium Stethoscope delivers accurate auscultation of heart, lung, and Korotkoff sounds with acoustic integrity and clarity. Compared to its 272 gr stainless steel counterpart, our titanium ProCardial® weighs in at only 137 gr. With its extra-deep, cone-shaped bell and ultrasensitive diaphragm, this cardiology stethoscope detects the entire frequency range required by cardiologists.

How often should a stethoscope be cleaned?

In most cases, stethoscopes can be used on exposed skin (non-essential contact), so the guidelines suggest cleaning it "after use on each patient" rather than "before use on each patient.". In cases of semi-critical contacts, such as when using it on skin that is not preserved, cleaning the stethoscope "before use on each patient" is advised. In research, healthcare professionals anonymously examined the frequency and methods of stethoscope cleaning. The results showed fewer than 4% of individuals cleansed their stethoscopes according to CDC standards, and 82% did not disinfect them.

How do I clean my stethoscope?

The cleaning of hands, surfaces, and stethoscopes in hospitals is done with the use of disinfectant gel. Some of these products can damage the rubber parts of stethoscopes as well as some plastics. Our tests have shown that even the the diaphragms can be damaged. For the proper cleaning – disinfection of the stethoscope, only the following are suggested: Use 70% isopropyl alcohol solution on a cloth or pre-packaged wipe, and wipe every surface of the stethoscope that comes in contact with patients, between each assessment. Do not use hand sanitizer or wipes with multiple ingredients, as they may include other agents that could damage parts of the stethoscope.

Should I laser engrave my brand new stethoscope?

Why have your stethoscope engraved? First, it will be easy to find: The engraving will decrease the chances of losing your stethoscope, and even if you loose it it will be easier to get it back. How about this? Laser engrave your telephone number on the binaural! Second, branding: Branding can serve as a trending approach for you. A better branding strategy can offer numerous benefits for you, it makes you look more professional, it facilitates standing out from the competitors and helps to develop a better relationship with your patients.

Does engraving impact the stethoscope’s performance?

No, engraving on your stethoscope will not impact its performance. Engraving different messages on the stethoscope offer a sense of customization and ownership. We offer laser engraving on the bell of the stethoscope, on the stem and on the metallic part of the binaural. The engraving of the stethoscope on the tubing will impact the durability of the stethoscope, this is why we do not offer it.
